This course is your opportunity to develop a practice that will develop for years to come. The tools of this class, HTML and FLASH, are too vast to cover in a comprehensive manner in fifteen weeks; moreover, they are evolving. You must take responsibility for learning outside of class. This includes locating and exploiting resources online, in books, and even your friends.
HTML: We will stress the separation of form and content, the separation of structural and layout markup. We will be working within the current W3C recommendations for HyperText Markup Language and Cascading Style Sheets.
FLASH: We will begin with Flash as a linear animation tool, progress to multilinear narrative and end up plunging into scripted, dynamic, nolinear interactivity.
This syllabus is a rough roadmap of what lies ahead. I will adjust and adapt it to our situation.
