Using the same concept and the same basic elements, construct three pieces.
This project sequence will gain us familiarity with the basic program interface as we explore the unique affordances of multimedia for shaping content. Technical aspects: using the timeline in linear and poly-linear form; importing bitmaps, vector artwork, sound files and text.
01.1 - TEXT + IMAGE
A print piece using image and text. Use a range of visual elements, from the photographic to the graphic. The final form may be a poster, a pamphlet, a (pop-up) book ...
01.2 - (TEXT + IMAGE) + TIME
A Flash piece extrapolating the same concept, which adds the element of time. Sound.
This piece doesn't have to be a literal translation of the previous one. It can extend, expand, mutate into a new form. The concept will transform as it is inscribed in a different medium.
Minimum length: ONE MINUTE.
01.3 - ((TEXT + IMAGE) + TIME) + CHOICE
A Flash piece, adding the element of User Choice. Scripting button and frame events. Branching narratives. This can extend, expand, mutate into a new form.
Minimum number of user choice actions: TEN.
Must use NESTED MOVIE CLIPS.
